Petals, Kettles and Decals

I feel very guilty today for committing the crime of not finishing a book. Can it ever be ok to ditch John Updike? Especially in favour of populist crime writing with very little literary merit? There’s this great big pile of novels on my shelf waiting to be read, but it’s so hard to break the personal rule of not starting something you can’t finish. Terrorist just doesn’t seem to be doing it for me though. I checked with the Cutting Edge Husband and he as usual provided me with some impeccable logic about why it is ok to put a book aside unfinished. Updike has been relegated. I’ll come back to it.
